The rise
Greece’s rise in the index is mainly due to the startup ecosystem of Athens, which is also rising. In particular, the Greek capital is high on the list of the top 100 ecosystems in the field of recreation, in 51st place. Commenting on the results, Deputy Minister of Research and Technology Christos Dimas underlined that StartupBlinkg has been a valuable source of information regarding startup ecosystems around the world and their performance, emphasizing that the Greek government worked closely with StartupBlinkg to provide reliable information on Greek innovation ecosystem.

He expressed satisfaction with the improvement of the ranking of the Greek startup ecosystem in terms of quantity, quality and impact of ecosystems and added that in the last two years, the Ministry of Development and Investment has created “Elevate Greece”, which evaluates, monitors, supports and promotes Greek startups in various ways.
