Munich-based travel tech firm Holidu and its Munich-based subsidiary Bookiply are continuing to expand. Bookiply, an in-house company for software solutions and services for the sale of holiday properties, is opening a new office in Athens under the direction of Mr. Markos Karakostas. In addition, the Holidu holiday home booking site, which includes more than 15 million holiday homes and apartments worldwide, is now available in Greek with a separate selection for the country.
The holiday home market is still one of the fastest growing markets in the travel industry, while after the first lockdown, demand for cottages and apartments exploded. This trend has reached Greece as well, noted Mr. Karakostas
Alistair Tofoli, Head of Sales and Account Management, Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean, noted that the Greek market, and the Ionian Islands in particular, is an important market for Holidu and the industry as a whole. In April 2022, searches for Greek destinations increased by 148% YoY. However, as she said despite the popularity as a destination, the Greek market is very fragmented, with bookings for many accommodations being available only through local specialist providers.
These now include both Holidu and Bookiply. Travelers benefit from a wider range of online booking options and flexible payment models. Homeowners are gaining significantly more visibility and many advantages in managing their property.
What is Bookiply?
Bookiply is the fast-growing subsidiary of Munich-based world-renown tech firm Holidu. Holidu is known for its holiday home search engine with more than 15 million offers and 100 million users annually. Bookiply provides software and services for accommodation owners and is already used by more than 10,000 customers in Europe and is a market leader in many major tourist destinations. Bookiply supports local owners in managing their property, such as streaming through all major booking portals, calendar synchronization and centralized payment management.
