Neptune Lines, owned by the president of the Union of Greek Shipowners, Ms. Melina Travlou, raised the Greek flag on yet another ship.
As became known on social media, Neptune Lines recently acquired the Hoegh Maputo, which joins the Neptune Lines fleet, under its new name Neptune Tharros. Built in 2011, Neptune Tharros has a carrying capacity of 4,900 cars. It now has a Greek registry and a Greek flag.
This acquisition follows that of sister ships Neptune Phos and Neptune Kallos, each with a capacity of 3,900 cars and built at the Hyundai Mipo shipyards.
“We are very pleased to welcome Neptune Tharros to our fleet, joining our other recent acquisitions, ensuring we have the capacity needed to serve our customers,” said Neptune Lines CEO Mr. Craig Jasienski.
It should be noted that a few days ago, Neptune Lines received the Neptune Barcelona from the 3 Maj Shipyard, Rijeka, which also raised the Greek flag.
