Γρεεκ drivers are concerned about the increasing cost of buying and using their cars. High fuel prices are forcing Greeks to change their habits.
According to a survey by Focus Bari, more than half of Greek car drivers say they will reduce the use of their car in the next six months, while one in five have already done so. The main reason they want to use the car less is the high cost of car maintenance and fuel costs.
On the other hand, the issue of protecting the environment from pollutants and climate change is not of concern to most.
Alternative ways of traveling are to go to nearby routes on foot, and/or use Public Transport.
Those who own two-wheeled vehicles, electric and non-electric, prefer to use them to a lesser extent for short trips, recreation and/or physical exercise.
Despite the high cost of fuel, one in four Greek drivers declares that they do not intend to reduce the use of their car, either because the routes and rhythms of everyday life do not allow it, or because they are not willing to change their habits.
