In July 2022, 20,456 automobiles (both new and used from abroad) were put into circulation for the first time, recording a 2.7% decrease compared with the
corresponding month of 2021 when the number of road motor cars was 21,018, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
In July 2021, a 10.3% increase had been observed in comparison with the corresponding month of 2020. A total number of 11,706 new cars were put into circulation in July 2022 compared with 11,611 in July 2021, recording a 0.8% increase.
New motorcycles over 50cc (both new and used from abroad) that were put into circulation for the first time in July 2022 amounted to 7,491, against 6,300 in 2021, thus recording a 18.9% increase. In July 2021, a 10.1% increase had been observed in comparison with the corresponding month of 2020. Out of the above motorcycles 7,002 were new, while the corresponding figure in July 2021 was 5,700, recording a 22.8% increase.
During the period January – July 2022, 131,476 road motor cars (both new and used from abroad) were put into circulation for the first time, representing an increase of 3.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2021 when the number of road motor cars was 126,661. During the period January – July 2021 an increase of 28.7% had been observed in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. Out of the above number of road motor cars that were put into circulation, from January to
July 2022, 71,541 were new, while the corresponding number during the respective period of 2021 was 75,118, recording a decrease of 4.8%.
During the period January – July 2022 the circulation of new motorcycles over 50cc (both new and used from abroad) amounted to 39,177 against 31,077 in 2021, thus representing a 26.1% increase. An increase of 36.4% had been observed during the period January – July 2021 in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. A total number of 36,211 new motorcycles were put into circulation, from January to July 2022, compared with 28,266 during the corresponding period of 2021, recording a
28.1% increase.
