According to the managing director of Elpedison, Nikolaos Zachariadis, ensuring the country’s electricity sufficiency rests on two axes. As he said, speaking to the journalist of Nea and ot.gr, Christos Kolonas in the context of the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair, “we should all change our culture. We can’t waste electricity like we did in the past and look for solutions from companies – and ours – for maximum energy savings. The second thing that must be done from the government’s side is to ensure the liquidity of natural gas exporters so that natural gas flows from the international markets to our country continue without interruption and there is no problem in the supply. If we put weight on these two, this winter will pass and spring will come with optimism.”
Regarding the readiness of Elpedison, Mr. Zachariadis stated that “our natural gas contracts have been closed and our two units have completed their maintenance so that they are ready to operate. Therefore, we are not worried about the production and coverage of the country. It is enough to be careful and to save money in order to ensure savings for our families as well.”
