Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, is in New York in order to participate in the High-Level Week of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), according to a foreign ministry’s announcement.From Monday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 23, he will have a series of bilateral and multilateral contacts, while he is also expected to take part in some of the Prime Minister’s meetings as well.
The schedule of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, N. Dendias, has been formulated so far, as follows:
Monday, September 19:
– Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi
– Trilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides and Armenia Ararat Mizoyan
– Bilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Greece and Cyprus
– Meeting with the American Jewish Committee leadership
– Meeting with the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly Csaba Kőrösi
– Meeting with the Foreign Minister of Cape Verde Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares
– Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union
Tuesday, September 20:
– The Minister of Foreign Affairs will represent Greece at the opening of the UN General Assembly
– Meeting with Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry
– Trilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt
– Meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki

– Working Lunch of the Foreign Ministers of the South-East European Cooperation Process
In the context of the above-mentioned meetings, apart from topics pertaining to the strengthening of bilateral relations, issues of regional and global interest, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the energy crisis, developments in North Africa, the South-Eastern Mediterranean, the Western Balkans, as well as the promotion of the Greek candidacy for a seat on the UN Security Council for the 2025-26 term, our candidacy for the Human Rights Council for the 2028-30 term and the Presidency of the UN General Assembly in 2035, will be discussed.
A number of bilateral agreements are scheduled to be signed, as well.
