Greece’s trade balance deficit with Russia reached 1.04 billion euros in July 2022, a 200.4-percent hike in the value of imports by the former from the latter.
Conversely, a trade surplus of 46 million euros were reported with Ukraine.
According to Greece’s statistical authority (EL.STAT), Russian imports to Greece reached 1.049 billion euros in the specific month, up from 349.4 million euros in July 2021. Greece’s exports to Russia reached a paltry 9.6 million euros, down by 42.6 percent from the corresponding month in 2021.
During the first seven-month period of 2022, the value of Russian exports to Greece reached 4.51 billion euros, up by 127.9 percent, compared to the Jan-Jul period of 2021. Greek imports to Russia reached 69.8 million, down by 32.3 percent compared with Jan-Jul 2021, translating into a negative trade balance of 4.440 billion euros.
