The Cabinet meeting that started shortly after 11 am, gave Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis a springboard for a new message to Ankara.

Mr. Mitsotakis at the beginning of his presentation, referred to the relief measures taken by the government regarding the scourge of high prices and the energy crisis, and then hastened to send a message to Ankara, answering the barrage of Turkish proclivities.

“Whatever Greece had to say, it said at the UN, both concerning red lines and its friendly disposition towards the Turkish people,” the Greek Prime Minister meaningfully stated.

But the PM also added, “threats may be monotonously repeated, but they [Turkish leadership] have been left alone.”

“We remain calm and confident in our clear positions” and he emphasized that “the use of many words belies poverty”.
