Public health authorities in Greece on Tuesday confirmed 53,800 new Covid-19 infections in the country for the second week of November 2022, with the total number of reported and confirmed infections in Greece totaling 5,360,506.
This is equivalent to 5,157 infections per one million people during the specific week (weekly change: 14 percent), with 27 percent of the weekly new infections being re-infections.
Additionally, another 147 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the same week, or 14 fatalities per one million people (weekly change: 23 percent), bringing the total number of victims since the pandemic began to 34,178.
Of the victims, 96.1 percent had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or more. The median age of the victims was 80.
A total of 89 patients were intubated as of Nov. 20. Their median age is 76 years and 98.9 percent have an underlying condition and/or are 70 years old and over.
