The Worldwide Industrial & Marine Association WIMA and the Municipality of Piraeus signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, on Thursday, November 24, 2022, with the main objective of strengthening and supporting the innovative development of entrepreneurship in the blue economy sector.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis, and the president of WIMA, Mr. Ilias Hatziefraimidis.
Bridge” of innovative ideas
Both the Mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis, and the President of WIMA, Mr. Ilias Hatziefraimidis, emphasized that the purpose of the Memorandum is the cooperation of the two entities with the aim of jointly exploiting their potential, acting as a bridge of innovative ideas in the field of the blue economy but also in consolidating a stable cooperative relationship with the aim of strengthening and supporting shipping and entrepreneurship in the shipping industry.
More specifically, WIMA, as well as its members, are at the disposal of the Municipality of Piraeus for any need the Municipality has related to its object, while at the same time it will assist the efforts of the Municipality of Piraeus to strengthen and develop entrepreneurship.
For its part, the Municipality of Piraeus will inform about the needs that arise in the Municipality of Piraeus and for which WIMA can assist as well as the developments at the business level concerning the maritime community.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, the two organizations will proceed to jointly undertake initiatives and organize events – workshops – conferences, in fields of common interest.
