There was a small decrease in unemployment in Greece in October.
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority-ELSTAT, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in October 2022 stood at 11.6% compared to a downwardly revised 13.3% in October 2021 and an upwardly revised 12% in September 2022.
The employed amounted to 4,138,113 people, marking an increase of 99,900 people compared to October 2021 (+2.5%) and a decrease of 37,032 people compared to September 2022 (-0.9%).
The unemployed amounted to 542,941 people, marking a decrease of 78,425 people compared to October 2021 (-12.6%) and by 26,465 people compared to September 2022 (-4.6%).
People under the age of 75 not in the labor force, or ‘people outside the labor force’, i.e. people neither working nor looking for work, stood at 3,139,103, down 53,394 from October 2021 (-1.7%) and an increase of 60,507 people compared to September 2022 (+2.0%).
