Hellenic Police confirmed 814 violations by smoking patrons and the managers of food service establishments throughout Greece, from December 1st to 27th.
In the same period, according to police, 20,534 checks regarding compliance with anti-smoking legislation were carried out throughout the territory.
In Attica during the three days of Christmas (Friday, December 23, 2022 to Sunday, December 25, 2022), a total of 143 checks were carried out.
As pointed out by police, controls to ensure the implementation of anti-smoking legislation will continue with unabated intensity.
Co-competent authorities
It is recalled that the co-competent Authorities for ensuring the implementation of the legislative and regulatory framework regarding the total ban on smoking in public places and in all places of employment through the detection of violations and the imposition of sanctions are the Health Services of Local Government Organizations grade A ‘ and B’, the Municipal Police, as well as the Port Authorities in their respective areas of responsibility.
