The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announces the final data, for the month September 2022, of the BuildingActivity Survey. More specifically:
The Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece, in September 2022 which is calculated on the basis of the numberof issued building permits, amounted to 2,153. This figure corresponds to 419,835 m2 of surface and 1,792,908 m3 of volume, reflecting, respectively, a 9.1% increase in the number of building permits, a 22.1% decrease in surface and a16.6% decrease in volume, compared with the corresponding month of 2021.
The building permits for the Private Building Activity issued in Greece in September 2022 amounted to 2,122. This figurecorresponds to 411,883 m2 of surface and 1,755,032 m3 of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2021 there isan 8.0% increase in the number of building permits, a 22.3% decrease in surface and a 16.5% decrease in volume.
The building permits for the Public Building Activity issued in Greece in September 2022 amounted to 31. This figurecorresponds to 7,952 m2 of surface and 37,876 m3 of volume. Public Building Activity accounted for a 2.1% of the totalbuilding volume in September 2022.
In the last twelve months, from October 2021 until September 2022, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece,calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 24,435. This figure corresponds to5,467,178 m2 of surface and 24,563,456 m3 of volume. In comparison with the corresponding period from October 2020until September 2021, there is an 8.1% increase in the number of building permits, a 4.0% decrease in surface and a4.2% increase in volume.
In the same period, from October 2021 untill September 2022, Private Building Activity in Greece recorded an 8.0%increase in the number of issued building permits, a 4.0% decrease in surface and a 5.3% increase in volume, comparedwith the corresponding period from October 2020 to September 2021 (Table 4). During the same period, Public BuildingActivity accounted for a 2.1% of the total building volume.
During the period January – September 2022, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece recorded a 2.7% increasein the number of issued building permits, a 13.2% decrease in surface and a 5.8% decrease in volume, compared withthe corresponding period of 2021 (Table 5). During the same period, January – September 2022, Private Building Activityin Greece recorded a 2.4% increase in the number of issued building permits, a 14.0% decrease in surface and a 5.8%decrease in volume, in comparison with the period of January – September 2021
