Greek hotels have always been known for the level of service but surprisingly not for the level of entertainment or food they offer guests, according to the satisfaction indicators (GRI) calculated by ReviewPro, a company that specializes in measuring the online reputation of hotels.
However, Greek hotels manage to maintain first place in the general satisfaction index (GRI) of hotels with 86.8% in November 2022. Croatia and Cyprus are in second place with 84.9% respectively. They are followed by Spain with 84.1%, Italy with 83.1% and Turkey with 80.5%, while in last place was France with 78.4%.
The individual indicators
However, based on the individual indicators (cleanliness, food and drink, location, service, value for money and entertainment) of Greece and its competitors for November 2022, the picture is slightly different. In terms of cleanliness, Cyprus is in first place with 91.8%, followed by Italy with 91.7% and Greece with 90.6%. In fourth place are Croatia and Spain with 88.7%, followed by Turkey with 87.7%. In last place is France with 83.0%.
The surplus of the Greek tourism balance at 15.436 billion euros
In the food-beverage category, Turkey is in first place with 84.3% and Cyprus in second place with 84.2%. They are followed by Greece with 82.7% and Spain with 81.7%. In fifth place is Italy with 81.1% while in last place is Croatia with 80.5%.
In the criterion of location, Turkey is in first placewith a high score of 90.4%. In second place is Cyprus with 90.3% followed by Italy with 89.7% respectively. Spain is in fourth place with 89.0%, followed by Croatia with 87.9%. In the last two places are Greece and France with 87.3% and 87.1% respectively.
In terms of service, Greece ranks first with 89.1% and Cyprus ranks second with 88.7%. In third place is Spain with 88.5% and in fourth place is Turkey with 87.6%. Italy follows with 86.9%. In the last two places are Croatia with 81.8% and France with 81.3%.
In the value-for-money category, Turkey is in first place with 86.8%, followed by Cyprus with 86.6% and Greece with 85.1%. In fourth place is Italy with 83.9%, followed by Croatia and Spain with 83.2%. In last place is France with 74.5%.
In the room category, Italy is in first place with 87.7%, followed by Cyprus with 85.2%. In third place is Spain with 84.0%, in fourth place Greece with 83.7% and in fifth place Turkey with 83.2%. In the last places are France 78.5% and Croatia with 77.5%.
In terms of entertainment, Turkey is in first place with 85.1% and Cyprus in second place with 80.2% while the rest of the countries are below 80.0%. Specifically: Croatia 78.6%, Greece 77.2%, Spain 75.9% and Italy 73.7%.
Based on star ratings
By star category in November 2022 the general satisfaction index for Greece was 86.8%. 5 star hotels have the highest rating with 89.0%. They are followed by 4-star hotels with 86.8% and 3-star hotels with 86.4%, while the satisfaction index for 1-2-star hotels was 85.4%.
Also, based on the individual criteria in the criterion of cleanliness, the 5-star category is in first place with 91.9%, followed by the 4-star category with 88.5%. In the food-beverage category, the 5-star category is in first place with 85.5%, followed by the 4-star category with 82.1%.
In the location criterion, the 5-star category is in first place with 88.6%, followed by the 4-star category with 86.3%. In terms of service, the 1-2 star category is in first place with 91.5%, followed by the 4 star category with 86.6%.
In the value-for-money category, the 5-star category is in first place with 86.5%, followed by the 4-star category with 83.7%.
In the room category, the 5-star category is in first place with 87.2%, followed by the 4-star category with 80.8%. In terms of entertainment, the 5-star category was evaluated with 80.7%.
