Deposits placed by individuals decreased by 591 million euros last month, compared with a decrease of 550 million the previous month (October 2022) and a slowing in the annual growth rate to 4.5 percent, from 5.9 percent in the previous month, the Bank of Greece announced on Thursday.
Greece’s central bank, in its customary monthly report, announced that the monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by 694 million euros in November 2022, compared with a negative net flow of 872 million euros the previous month.
Deposits placed by the general government decreased by 104 million euros, compared with a decrease of 322 million euros the previous month, while the annual growth fell by 4.3 percent, compared with a decrease of 4.9 percent in the previous month.
Corporate deposits decreased by 182 million euros, compared with a decrease of 671 million euros in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 5.4 percent from 11.1 percent in the previous month. Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions decreased by 409 million euros, compared with an increase of 121 million euros in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at 4.2 percent from 4.3 percent in the previous month.
Finally, the monthly net flow of total credit was positive, by 1.188 billion euros, in November 2022, compared with a negative net flow of 639 million euros in the previous month.
