Eurostat on Wednesday estimated the inflation rate in Greece for December 2022 at 7.6 percent, slightly up from 7.2 percent calculated by the country’s statistics authority, EL.STAT.
The figure for the Eurozone as a whole totaled 9.2 percent, down from 10.1 percent the previous month, November 2022.

Energy prices eased by 6.6 percent, on a monthly basis, posting an increase of 25.5 percent on an annual basis in December 2022, but down from 34.9 percent in November 2022.

On a year-to-year basis, energy contributed 2.79 percentage points to the inflation rate, compared to 2.88 percentage points for durable goods.

EL.STAT measured the annual rate last November in Greece at 8.5 percent.
