The European Central Bank’s (ECB) chairman of its Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), Andrea Enria, met with Bank of Greece (BoG) Gov. Yannis Stournaras in Athens on Thursday.
Enria, who officially chairs the SSM’s supervisory board, also held talks with representatives of Greece-based banks and the leadership of the Hellenic Bank Association, with the focus being on efforts to reduce NPEs held by systemic lenders in the country.
Greece’s four systemic banks were recapitalized three times during the nearly decade-long economic crisis that battered the country.
