
The yachting sector is the spearhead of Greek tourism, as was emphasized during the annual meeting of the Hellenic Maritime Tourism Association, during which the elections for the appointment of a new board of directors were also held.
The Hellenic Maritime Tourism Association, which has been founded by the leading Greek companies active in the yachting sector with large professional crewed pleasure boats, remains faithful to its commitment to the development and prosperity of yachting in Greece, the relevant announcement emphasizes.
In its ten years of operation, the Association has succeeded with its actions in putting Greek yachting in the global spotlight and becoming a pole of attraction for yacht brokers from all over the world. In addition, it has succeeded in highlighting the problems and becoming the “voice” of professionals in the sector as well as contributing to business development, communication and cooperation support, in a sector that brings significant social and economic benefits to the country.
The highlight of the Association’s activities is the organization of the annual Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS), which this year will take place for the 8th year from April 29 to May 3 in the port of Nafplion. The Show is now the largest professional crewed yacht show in the world by number of entries, surpassing the shows held in Antigua and Barcelona, which cover the Western Hemisphere and Western Mediterranean markets respectively.
With regard to the appointments that took place on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Naval Club of Greece, it should be noted that the members of the Association renewed their confidence in the Board of Directors, extending its term for another three years.
