Turkey and Syria urgently need our support. A massive disaster struck in the heart of winter and in the middle of the night, finding thousands of people unsuspecting and helpless.
The deadly earthquake that struck southeastern Turkey and northern Syria on February 6 has so far killed more than 46,000 people in both countries, while the number of those still missing under the rubble remains unknown. The damage to homes and infrastructure throughout the region is incalculable.
Alter Ego Media (MEGA, TO BIMA, TA NEA, in.gr, ot.gr, MY RADIO 104.6), in the context of its corporate responsibility and with great sensitivity for the earthquake-affected countries, is cooperating with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to provide immediate humanitarian aid to those suffering. UNHCR teams are on the ground with a presence in both countries and are providing life-saving assistance to the affected, refugees and local people, supporting the efforts of States. They offer tents, thermal blankets, mattresses, winter gear, cookware and other supplies.
The financial assistance campaign “HELP THE FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE” organized by Alter Ego Media in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees calls on all of us to show our support and love in practice to the people who are being tested so hard.
