The possibility of developing seaplane facilities is acquired by Skopelos Port, with the Certificate of Acceptance of the Technical File of the water runway signed by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, Mr. Michalis Papadopoulos.
With this Certificate, the company “Aqueducts of Sporades Private Capital Company”, which submitted the relevant request for a license to establish and operate, has the possibility to follow the actions provided by law for the construction of the required facilities of the aqueduct.

Similar certificates, which allow the establishment and operation of waterways, have been granted in Alonissos, Skyros and Tinos, while the relevant file concerning the Patmos waterway is being examined.
On the occasion of the granting of the Technical File Certificate at the Skopelos watercourse, Mr. Papadopoulos stated:
“Skopelos, after Skyros and Alonissos, becomes the third island of the Sporades that acquires the possibility of developing watercourse facilities, an infrastructure that can make a decisive contribution to its further tourism development and not only that. Now, in the Sporades and Evia, where similar facilities have already been licensed, conditions are being created for sustainable air connections with the mainland, as well as the Aegean islands.”
Recently, the company “Skyros Watercourse Private Capital Company”, which submitted the relevant request for a license to establish and operate seaplane runways, obtained the possibility to follow the actions provided by law for the construction of the required facilities of the water runway.
Which additional ports have been licensed?
It is recalled that establishment licenses have also been granted to the waterways of Ios, Volos, Rethymnon, Kalamata, Kyllini and Kymi, while in total, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is examining another 18 requests for the granting of waterway licenses.
