
With the participation of twenty (20) companies in the Greek national pavilion organized and supported by the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece), the “BIG 5 SAUDI” international construction materials exhibition, which took place in Riyadh from February 18 to 21, 2023, wound down. At the same time, apart from the national stand, an additional seven (7) Greek companies participated in separate stands, through their representatives in the region.
It is the most important exhibition in the construction sector in Saudi Arabia and in the wider region, which was held in the new Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC), with a total area of 40,000 sq.m. where 850 companies from 40 countries were hosted. The products presented came from the construction and services sector, such as building materials, electrical equipment, air conditioning systems, airport equipment, marble & marble processing materials, cables, aluminum products, paints – varnishes – insulation, electrical machinery, water technology & environment, residential and commercial air conditioning technology, software for construction companies, cleaning and maintenance machinery, metallurgy and glass products, bathrooms, wood products, etc.
The big projects
It is noted that the major projects that have been announced by the government of Saudi Arabia until 2030 and the very good relations with Greece, contribute to the increasing participation of Greek companies from the field of construction materials and services and the conclusion of important agreements during the exhibition.
The Ambassador of Greece in Riyadh, Mr. Alexis Konstantopoulos, who attended the opening of the exhibition, welcomed the Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry of Saudi Arabia to the Greek stand. UN, Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, while everyone together, had the opportunity to meet with representatives of Greek companies.
The relations between the two countries
The Authorized Advisor and Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Greece, Mrs. Betty Alexandropoulou, noted that Greece’s relations with Saudi Arabia are at the best level in recent years and Greek construction companies produce highly innovative products and services and can capture their fair share of this promising growing market. She also noted that Enterprise Greece, recognizing the strategic importance of this market, will continue to provide the support required by strengthening the extroversion of Greek companies in the sector.
For his part, the Ambassador, Mr. Alexis Konstantopoulos, noted the embassy’s contibution in facilitating meetings between Greek businesses with the local market.
