Tax revenues for the January-February 2023 period increased by 1.245 billion euros, or 14.2 percent, over the budget target, according to the execution data of the state budget, on a modified cash basis.
This development comes primarily from the overperformance in VAT and annual income tax collection.
Based on the figures, a surplus in the balance of the state budget of 2.3 billion euros, compared to a target for a surplus of 36 million euros, was ascertained for the corresponding period of 2023.
The primary result was a surplus of 4.215 billion euros compared to a target of a primary surplus of 1.816 billion euros and a primary surplus of 840 million euros for the same period in 2022.
