Greece is among the global leaders in terms of penetration of renewable energy sources (RES), according to the latest report by Ember, which focuses on the international energy sector for 2022.
According to the survey, 33.3 percent Greece’s electricity energy production came from RESs, primarily photo-voltaic units and wind farms, 20.7 percent and 12.6 percent, respectively.
The figure places Greece in seventh place internationally.
Denmark (55.8 percent), Lithuania (48.4 percent) and Luxembourg (46.5 percent) are the top trio.
