The PPC signs agreement with Fondul Proprietatea S.A. to acquire its minority shareholding in E-Distributie Muntenia S.A., Enel Energie Muntenia S.A., E-Distributie Dobrogea S.A., E-Distributie Banat S.A., and ENEL Energie S.A.
Public Power Corporation S.A. (“PPC”) announced that it has signed on 19 April, 2023 an agreement with Fondul Proprietatea S.A. (“Fondul”) to acquire all the equity stakes held by Fondul in E-Distributie Muntenia S.A. (12%), Enel Energie Muntenia S.A. (12%), E-Distributie Dobrogea S.A. (24.1%), E-Distributie Banat S.A. (24.1%), and ENEL Energie S.A. (12%) in Romania, for a total consideration of RON 650 million (approximately €130 million based on a spot FX rate of 0.2).
This agreement is concluded following the entry by Enel S.p.A. (“Enel”) and PPC on March 9, 2023, into an agreement for the sale of all the equity stakes held by Enel in Romania.
The completion of the sale under the agreement with Fondul is subject, among others, to the closing of the transaction between Enel and PPC. Further announcements will be made as and when relevant.
