The median difference between New Democracy (ND) and SYRIZA parties in the wake of Sunday’s general election in Greece, as emanating from a common exit poll conducted by mainstream opinion poll firms, is 14 percentage points.

With a statistical error factored in, the difference is between 10 to 18 percentage points, which translates into an electoral collapse for the leftist party that was in power between 2015 and 2019.
Based on the latest projections, incumbent ND will receive between 37.5 to 41.5 percent of the vote; 23.5 to 27.5 percent for SYRIZA; 11.5 percent to 12,5 percent for PASOK; 6.5 percent to 7.5 percent for KKE; 4.3 percent to 5.3 percent for Elliniki Lysi;  while Yanis Varoufakis’ Mera25 appears at 2.5 percent an 3.5 percent.

A figure below 3 percent of the general vote means the party will not re-enter Parliament.
