
The unemployment rate in Greece fell to 11.2 percent of the workforce in the country in April 2023, down from 12.7 percent in corresponding month in 2022.
The rate was marginally up from 11.1 percent in March 2023, Hellenic Statistical Authority announced on Thursday.
Specifically, the number of unemployed people exceeded 527,700 in April 2023, down 11.9 percent from April 2022, but up 0.9 percent from March 2023.
The unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group decreased to 27.4 percent in April from 32.3 percent in April 2022 and in the 25-74 age group it fell to 10.3 percent from 11.7 percent, respectively. The number of employed people was nearly 4,167,000, up 1.6 percent from April 2022 and down 0.9 percent, compared to March 2023.
