The most famous beach game, paddle ball is banned on some beaches with offenders being asked to pay a hefty fine.
Thus, on the beaches of Kavouri and Maltsiniotis, wooden rackets-paddles are prohibited and violators face a fine of 1,000 euros.
At the entrance of the specific Athenian beaches, a relevant sign has been placed stating the above prohibition as well as the hefty fine.
The municipality of Voula-Vari-Vouliagmenis this measure has been in effect since 2006 on three beaches located in residential areas. The racket sport disturbs the tranquility of the residents of the complex, according to the Municipality.
Which beaches are unsuitable for swimming in Attica
The Panhellenic Center for Ecological Research (PAKOE) lists the suitable and unsuitable beaches for swimming from Piraeus to Vouliagmeni.
In 2023, sampling for Attica began on May 2 and ended on May 6, while for the rest of the country, it began on May 8 and ended on May 18.

The Center presents the suitability of the swimming beaches from Piraeus to Vouliagmeni, where 50 beaches were checked of which 43 are suitable for swimming and 7 unsuitable.
