With fire fronts active in Dervenochoria and Loutraki, the EU decided to help Greece by setting up the European Civil Protection Mechanism. Following this, assistance from EU member states is expected in the next few hours.
Specifically, according to an announcement by the Commission, the EU is going to send 4 firefighting planes from France and Italy, which will support the task of extinguishing the fires.
