The sign from the two-day visit of the Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olgas Kefalogiannis to Paris is positive in terms of strengthening the tourist relations between Greece and France as well as the further promotion of our country’s tourism in the French market in view of the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Greek minister visited the French capital on July 18 and 19, where she had successive meetings with officials of the French tourism market and representatives of important tour operators.
During the working meetings, hosted by the Greek embassy in Paris, the discussions focused on highlighting and promoting new Greek destinations for the French market, alongside the traditional destinations, which have consistently attracted the interest of the French in recent years.
Ms Kefalogianni traveled to Paris in an effort to expand talks and promotional synergies with French tour operators, who already have a strong presence in the country’s island destinations, with the aim of attracting last-minute bookings and conditionally extending this year’s tourist season, given the positive trend recorded by sales from the French market for 2023.
In particular, the Minister met with the General Manager Mr. Roland Sfeir and the marketing cooperation manager Ms. Audrey Storme of the NG Travel Group, the President Mr. Alain de Mendoca, the co-founder Mr. Folco Aloisi and the Communications Director Mrs. Donia El Younsi of T.O Karavel/Fram and finally with the Managing Director, Ms. Samia Benslimane of the Thalasso Group, to whom she communicated the main pillars of the tourist of policy emphasizing: “At the Ministry of Tourism, we have as a primary goal to make Greece a pioneer sustainable tourist destination and we are working towards the transformation of our tourism product into a global model of sustainable tourism development with a balanced distribution of resources as well as rational development of destinations”.
In the context of the planning of the promotion actions for the upcoming tourist season, Mrs. Kefalogianni collaborated with the Greek Ambassador in Paris, Mr. Dimitris Zevelakis and the Head of the Hellenic Tourism Organization-EOT Service of France, Mrs. Dimitra Vozikis, focusing on the opportunities presented for the promotion of our country as the birthplace of the Olympic Games and the Olympic Ideal throughout the preparation and holding of the Olympic Games in Paris and other regional cities of France.
The visit of the Minister of Tourism concluded with interviews in the electronic edition of Le Figaro, the tourist electronic newspaper Tourmag.com as well as the sectoral electronic edition L’echo Touristique.
