
Fines of a total amount of 1,440,000 euros were imposed by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA) on three large chains selling electrical and electronic goods, as during its checks it was found that they were in violation of Article 15 of Law 4177/2013, as it is in force, and in application of ministerial decree 35935/2023 “Code of Ethics regarding the announcement of a reduced price in the period from falls”.
Specifically, the following are imposed:
A fine of 560,000 euros to the company “Plaisio COMPUTERS AEBE”.
A fine of 520,000 euros to the company “PUBLIC RETAIL MON. SA”.
A fine of 360,000 euros to the company “Praktiker Hellas EMPORIKI MON. SA”.
The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, said: “After checks on large chains selling electrical and electronic goods, we found violations that exceed 1.4 million euros. I want to be absolutely clear: misleading consumer practices are not tolerated. The controls will be intensified in the next period. We will not allow any illegal act that leaves citizens unprotected and distorts healthy competition”.
