
Passengers traffic at the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport of Athens (AIA) last month, July 2023, exceeded 3.2 million, an increase of 16.1 percent compared to the corresponding month of 2022
According to figures supplied by Greece’s biggest and busiest airport, passenger traffic last month was also increased, by 10.5 percent, compared to pre-pandemic 2019 – the best year on record for Greek tourism.
Domestic and international passenger traffic also exceeded July 2022 levels, by 12.7 percent και 17.7 percent, respectively.
Just as importantly, the same figures were up by 12.4 percent and 9.7 percent, respectively, compared to July 2019.
July 2023 came on the heels of a record-breaking June, as the preceding month witnessed AIA passenger traffic increased by 19.8 percent (2.92 million) compared to the same month in 2022, and up by 11.7 percent compared to pre-pandemic 2019.
