Energy company sources, including information by Greece-based Energean, reported no problems with offshore natural gas and oil platforms in Israeli waters, amid the unprecedented attacks on Israeli territory by the Gaza-based Hamas terrorist group.
Ot.gr contacted companies over the weekend regarding the operation of the east Mediterranean energy fields.
Energean holds concessions for the Karish and Tanin fields since 2017.
A floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility processing natgas from the Karish field is located 90 kilometers from the Israeli coast, and is the closest to Cyprus’ EEZ.
Sources close to Energean also added that administrative offices in Tel Aviv and a FPSO technical base in Haifa were unaffected by the terrorist attacks.
The Greek company employs roughly 100 people in the country.
