Fines of 6.6 million euros were imposed by the Labor Inspectorate on companies, as they were “caught” violating labor laws
According to a relevant announcement, in the framework of a special action of targeted controls by the Labor Inspectorate, through the risk analysis system of PS ERGANI, between July and August 2023, 1,313 companies were checked, of which 583 (44.4%) were found to be in violation .
Controls
The audits concerned undeclared work, time limits, accrued wages, etc., for 10,359 workers, of which 1,729 were affected. Of these, 103 were identified as undeclared, 1,338 for violating work time limits and 288 for other violations. 750 fines were imposed, amounting to 3,487,560 euros.
In total, during the two months of July – August, Labor Relations inspectors carried out 6,560 checks and fines of 6,611,783 euros were imposed.
The high delinquency rate (44.4%) of the selected companies shows that the data analysis through risk analysis works very effectively, given that, from the data of previous years, it appears that the delinquency of the companies is 25%. It is also worth noting that during the specific two months, in the totality of the audit activity, 186 undeclared workers were identified, of which 103 emerged through the targeted audits of the special action.
