In an interview, Pavlos Marinakis talked about the asylum procedures for immigrants. The government representative reiterated that the country is on full alert.
Speaking to MEGA television, the government representative said “The authorities apply the law, the framework of granting or not granting asylum, which the judicial authorities apply, is very specific and strict”.
“Our country is fully prepared”
Asked if there is a fear of a possible attack by Lone Wolves, Pavlos Marinakis replied that “I don’t want to get into the process of analyzing or knowing the operational plans of the Authorities or other services. Our country is fully prepared, we are processing all the data to ensure maximum security, the authorities are monitoring the developments and obviously the appropriate plans are in place.
It is disgusting that anyone would celebrate such atrocities. The Authorities apply the law, the framework for granting or not granting asylum, which the judicial authorities apply, is very specific and strict. There is the control and guarding of the structures and full vigilance”
“Greece protects its borders, it is not a fenceless grove”
Afterwards, the government representative was asked about the immigrants and said that, “if something is done, the asylum regime will obviously be revised. There are many possibilities. It is a complex process, Greece has managed to reduce the pending applications, it has managed to return a large percentage to the countries of origin based on the legal procedure.
It has modified the function of the structures, there are also the closed structures for cases of people whose affairs are not in order. The number has been greatly reduced. Greece protects its borders, it is not a wild vine but it also respects man and his rights. The supposedly sensitive and merciful had structures of shame, they piled people up, they had a large number of unaccompanied children in miserable conditions, without any protection.
