The social media platform X (formerly Twitter) had issues globally on Thursday morning, impacting millions of users throughout the world.
Downdetector.com, which tracks outages by gathering status reports for sources and users, said that users weren’t able to view posts or share.
Others had issues uploading on X Pro, and upon opening the site were met with a message that said, “Welcome to X” or “Waiting for posts,” according to reports at Reuters.
The cause of the downing is currently unknown and led 75,000 users to report issues with the social media app, according to Downdetector, and even inspired the trend #TwitterDown.
Most of the problems reported to Downdetector were with the app (71%), while 23% were connected to the website and 6% with connecting to the server.
