
According to the data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, for businesses in the accommodation sector, the turnover in November 2023 amounted to €186,164,893, marking an increase of 21.8% compared to November 2022, when it had reached €152,816,458.
Similarly, for businesses in the catering services sector, the turnover in November 2023 reached €172,975,671, showing an increase of 6.9% compared to November 2022, when it had reached €161,815,979.
Cumulatively, for businesses in the sectors of accommodations and catering services the turnover in November 2023 amounted to €359,140,564, marking an increase of 14.1% compared to November 2022 when it had reached €314,632,438.
Regarding the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover in 2022 greater than 1.0%, the highest increase in turnover in November 2023 compared to that of 2022 was observed in the Regional Unit of Lasithi, Crete (41.3%), while the smallest increase (0.2%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki.
However, in terms of percentage, the Regional Unit of the island of Ikaria was the standout performer, as it presented a remarkable increase in the cumulative turnover (accommodations and catering) in November by an astonishing 221.8%!
