Starting on May 29, the Daleela ferry will be carrying out regular services between Cyprus and Greece.
This year’s itinerary does not include a stopover at Larnaca port, as confirmed by the operating company, Scandro Holding Ltd., which was awarded the project in a tender and is subsidized with a total of 16.5 million euros for a period of three years. The relevant tender foresees 22 routes without an in-between stopover.
The ferry can accommodate up to 400 passengers and 200 vehicles. Services will end on September 3.
Tickets for the 30-hour voyage can be booked online with round-trip fares costing approximately 69 euros and double cabins round trip at 129 euros.
According to the Deputy Shipping Minister of Cyprus, Marina Hadjimanolis, demand is expected to be high. Indicatively, in 2023, the Daleela transported over 7,400 passengers and more than 2,400 vehicles between May and September.
Hadjimanolis said the ferry connection between Cyprus and Greece was necessary and sustainable and pledged the ministry’s support to keep it in operation.
The ferry service between Cyprus and Greece was reinstated in 2022. after 21 years of inactivity.
