Admine, a digital advertising company in Greece, is launching a trial of the 4-day workweek. This innovative HR practice, tailored for Greek circumstances, will debut in July, according to the company’s announcement.
“We’ve been contemplating this for about two years, extensively researching its implementation across various global companies. After a significant six-month period, we’ve opted to explore a model centered on streamlined productivity and employee accountability, traits our team members already excel in,” remarked Tilemachos Mavrakis, CEO of Admine.
Meanwhile, Speakit emerges as Greece’s first company to adopt the 4-day workweek. Specializing in human resources and management staffing, Speakit is pioneering the introduction of the UK model, known as the 100-80-100, in Greece. Under this model, its 33 employees retain full pay while working reduced hours, striving for optimal productivity.
In 2022, the United Kingdom led the way with its largest pilot program involving over 60 companies embracing the 4-day workweek.
Research findings were striking: heightened employee productivity and output, a 50% reduction in sick leave and resignation rates, and a perfect 100% satisfaction rating among employees. Moreover, over half of the participants reported acquiring new skills and abilities during the pilot phase.
These successes have prompted 92% of companies to permanently adopt the 4-day workweek.
Additionally, pilot studies in Spain, Portugal, and South Africa underscore the benefits of shorter workweeks, including reduced fatigue, improved stress management, increased sleep and exercise, enhanced family time, and improved overall well-being.
Employers have noted lower turnover and absenteeism rates, with studies even revealing decreased carbon emissions from reduced commuting in Spain.
