The annual inflation rate in Greece and the Euro area both came in at 2.5% for June 2024, according to final figures released by Eurostat.

This is slightly worse than the preliminary figure of 2.4% for June, released by Greece’s National Statistics Authority (ELSTAT) at the start of July, and is also a bit higher than the 2.4% recorded in May 2024.

But, the figures are an improvement on Greece’s annual inflation rate of 2.8% in June 2023, and certainly on the Euro area inflation rate of 5.5% in June 2023.

Eurostat revealed that the highest level of inflation in June was posted in Belgium at 5.4%, followed by Iceland, where it came in at 5.0%.

Meanwhile, the lowest level of inflation was seen in Lithuania, where it was just 1.0%.

Overall and compared to May 2024, annual inflation decreased in 17 countries, remained stable in 1 and increased in 9.
