Three Greek destinations – the large islands of Crete, Rhodes and Kos – are on the latest “bucket list” by Conde Nast Traveller for the 13 best destinations in Europe for October holidays.
The increasingly global holiday destination and semi-retirement magnate of Crete, in fact, makes it to third place on the list, behind the east Mediterranean island republic of Cyprus and the Med’s biggest island, Sicily.
The Dodecanese isles of Rhodes and Kos are in eight and 13th place, respectively.
An extended “beach season”, along with vibrant culture, unique cuisine and pleasing natural environments are increasing cited by international publications in pointing to off-season Greece as appealing to discerning holiday makers.
