The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, inaugurated the new building of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) in Tavros, in the southwestern part of the Athens agglomeration, on Tuesday.

This new facility houses central AADE services in a modern, centralized space designed to enhance operational efficiency. The building features specialized areas to support the functions of the auditing and revenue collection departments, ensuring direct collaboration among divisions, minimizing delays.

This investment, which creates a modern hub for tax administration, will accommodate approximately 1,500 employees. What is more it will free valuable real estate in the central Athens area which the government can better utilize.

The new setup facilitates more effective monitoring of tax obligations, enabling the swift and accurate identification and combating of tax evasion.

Mitsotakis expressed his joy and satisfaction at the inaugurating ceremony stating that it reflects the progress made by the Authority for Public Revenue in an effort to modernize and upgrade its status.

He further highlighted that the Authority has changed the perception it had in the minds of citizens.
“The change of location not only signifies resource savings but also relates to the working conditions and how the employees themselves experience a modern workspace as a factor in improving their productivity”, Mitsotakis stated.

He also stressed that his government is in an ongoing “fight” against tax evasion, emphasizing that “As tax evasion decreases, we will proceed with further tax reductions. What is happening at the AADE is of great significance for the overall Greek economy and state revenues.”

Finally, the prime minister stressed that the efforts being made at AADE have his full personal support.
