The newly created Amsterdam-based LeonidsPort company has submitted a voluntary public offer for 21% of the Thessaloniki Port Authority’s shares. The ATHEX-listed facility is largest port in northern Greece.

According to reports, the prospective major investor for the specific port authority is also offering a noteworthy premium of 26.6% for the latter’s shares.

Moreover, besides the public offer, LeonidsPort B.V. intends to buy shares of the Thessaloniki port authority directly through the Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX) or over-the-counter at the offered price. A buy order by the company will be placed at the Athens Stock Exchange at the start of trading on Monday, Jan. 13.

The owners of LeonidsPort B.V. are the well-known Louis-Dreyfus family, which is active in France and Switzerland and led by Russian-Swiss billionaire Margarita Louis-Dreyfus.
