
Demand for office space in Greece leads the category of commercial real estate, according to a recent report released by Cushman & Wakefield Proprius, and focusing on the local property market.
The report comes in light with the recent publication of figures showing a booming tourism and hospitality sector in Greece, with 2024 posting another record performance. dance, and commercial shops making a tentative comeback.
The consultancy firm also points to a growing trend to revamp and restore historic buildings, mostly in central Athens, as office space – and in some instances executive-style suites for short-term stays.
According to the report, new office space development in the greater Athens area reaches 108,050 square meters, while new premises under construction exceed 241,558 square meters in total.
At the end of 2024 the highest rents were recorded in the center of Athens and the central business hub, where the rent in “high end” buildings hovered at 29.5 euros per sqm per month.
This is followed with an average figure of 29 euros per sq.m. along the northeast Athens corridor along the Kifissias and Messogeion thoroughfares.
