Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.6% in the Eurozone and by 0.8% in the EU
Central Greece, Western Greece, and the Peloponnese are particularly susceptible to forest fires, while Eastern Macedonia and Thrace are vulnerable due to disparities in per capita GDP
The report notes that consumption growth remained notably reduced despite a robust recovery in 2022, adding however, that it remained one of the main drivers of growth last year
The figures reveal significant disparities among EU countries concerning GDP per capita
In terms of volume, ELSTAT data indicated a marginal 0.02 percentile upward tick in the 3rd quarter of 2023, in comparison to the previous quarter of the same year
The forecast was included in the central bank’s monetary policy report for 2022-23
